Taco is looking for the 'landscape behind the person'. His work always searches for a setting, a stage where the personality of the sitter resides.

A portrait by this artist is constructed in several stages: First the personal meeting, the exchange of ideas and the first 'feel' of the subject.
Then the actual shoot, where poses are fitted onto that first concept.
And lastly, the most important step, the imaging of the final work: The finished portrait.

Originally from Holland, Taco now finds his inspiration in the mysterious features of County Clare, Ireland. Breathing in the atmosphere, he finds the hills to be a constant reminder of how layered, how multifacetted the world is.

He was born in Rotterdam, in 1960 and moved to Ireland in 2010.

His formal art training was at the photography school in Apeldoorn, Holland
